Make language part of your working plans
A conversation with a colleague. A message to a customer. A meeting that brings several countries together. Start with the situations in which you want to use a language, then explore the programme that could help you practise them.
This English-language guide introduces the ME Formation language catalogue. It is for people who work or plan to work in France, and for companies preparing international projects. Your starting level, communication needs and practical arrangements still need to be clarified before a course is agreed.
Choose your starting point
Working or preparing to work in France
Explore French as a foreign language, workplace communication and the difference between learning French and improving professional writing in French.
International companies and teams
Define the languages, tasks, participants and working patterns involved in a project with colleagues, customers or partners across borders.
Choose a programme that fits the need
The catalogue separates foreign languages, French as a foreign language, professional French writing and French Sign Language. Portuguese programmes also distinguish Portugal and Brazil.
French as a foreign language, or FLE, is for people learning French as an additional language. Professional French writing focuses on areas such as spelling, grammar, summaries and clear written messages for people who already use French. A starting-level assessment helps identify the appropriate route.

Agree the practical details before you commit
- Describe the task. Explain what you need to understand, say, read or write.
- Clarify your starting point. Discuss previous learning, current use and any prerequisites.
- Check the proposed course. Confirm the objectives, format, teaching language, materials, schedule, assessment and any adaptations.
- Review the quote and funding. Check the total price, what is included, the applicable conditions and any funding decision before enrolling.
Your nationality, job title or a shortage-occupation label does not establish funding for a particular course. CPF and employer or OPCO support require checks for the person, company and training project concerned. A personal contribution or remaining balance may apply.
