Language training for international teams

Define the communication tasks, languages and practical arrangements for a project across borders.

Begin with the conversations your project requires

An international project can involve colleagues, customers or partners who use different languages. Start by identifying the exchanges that need to work: presenting a service, clarifying a request, contributing to a meeting or producing a shared document.

This route helps a company based in France or abroad prepare its language-training needs. The location, delivery conditions, skills needed and funding arrangements are clarified for the project before a proposal is agreed.

Describe the team and its working situations

People and languages

  • Participants, roles and current language use.
  • Languages and variants needed for the project.
  • Differences in starting levels and learning needs.
  • Any access or participation requirements.

Tasks and organisation

  • Meetings, customer exchanges, messages or documents to work on.
  • Countries and time zones relevant to the schedule.
  • Availability and the format to be discussed.
  • The entity buying the training and the proposed paying party.

For French, distinguish FLE for people learning the language from professional writing for people who already use it. For Portuguese, specify whether the project concerns Portugal or Brazil. The programme and any assessment should match the actual need.

Build the proposal in clear stages

  1. Clarify the brief. Identify participants, tasks, languages and constraints.
  2. Check starting levels. Use the proposed assessment process to inform the learning objectives and any grouping.
  3. Agree the scope. Confirm objectives, content, duration, format, teaching language, materials, support and assessment.
  4. Review the quote. Check the total price, inclusions, possible examination costs, contractual parties and practical conditions.
  5. Confirm the arrangements. Agree the schedule and any adaptations, then check a funding decision where the project relies on one.

An external certification is a separate choice. The exact examination, language, conditions and the provider’s authorisation must be checked before it is included in a proposal.

Check the funding framework before committing

A cross-border project does not itself establish access to French training funds. Identify the employing entity, relevant rules and paying party before including CPF, OPCO or another source in the budget.

Where French funding may apply, the company’s situation, the training project, the applicable criteria and the funder’s decision need to be checked. CPF is assessed through the individual’s own situation and a specific eligible offer. Neither a shortage-occupation label nor the company’s nationality establishes approval.

The quote should remain clear about who is responsible for payment and what happens if expected funding is not approved. No funding amount or acceptance is guaranteed by this page.

Include the conditions people need to participate

Ask about work patterns, time zones, equipment and accessibility needs early. Confirm the format and teaching language rather than inferring them from the language of this page. Do not include employees’ medical information, identity documents or account credentials in an initial request.

Programme availability and the conditions of any delivery in a particular location must be confirmed in the proposal.

Prepare a company enquiry

Use the English company test form to describe a fictional company, team and project, with an email address such as alex@fiction.invalid. The request and notifications stay local; no email is sent outside the test environment and no quote or training contract is issued.

For a future live enquiry, specify your preferred language. Multilingual human support and an English-language quote remain subject to confirmation.
